DO YOU HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS?

The birthplace of a Champion begins with God and starts with a relationship with Jesus. The Bible says, "For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible...everything got started in HIM and finds it's purpose in HIM."  Colossians 1:6. That everything includes YOU!  So that means if God created YOU with a purpose and a destiny in this life, then a relationship with Jesus is one of the most important relationships you can have in this life.  If you don't have this relationship, we invite you to discover how you can begin one today!

THE BAD NEWS

We are all sinners.  That means we've fallen short of the mark, we've messed up, we've done things we shouldn't have.  And possibly things we are ashamed of.  These things (sins) have put a huge gap between us and God.  The Bible says in Romans 3:23 - "For EVERYONE has sinned; we ALL fall short of God's glorious standard."



Some people think they can "make it up" to God by all the good stuff they've done. That the good stuff will outweigh the bad.  But, there's nothing you can do in your own power to make up for your sin.  Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."  Ephesians 2:9 - "Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it."



THE GOOD NEWS

God loves us so much--About 2000 years ago, God sent His Son, Jesus--His only perfect and dearly loved Son to this earth--on a mission to save us.  Jesus lived a perfect life and never sinned yet died on the cross to pay for our sins. He took the punishment you and I deserve for our sins.  His death paid the price and bridged the gap that separated us from God.  Romans 5:8 says "But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners."

Three days after he was crucified, Jesus rose from the grave.  His resurrection gave proof that he was who he said he was--the Son of God. It gave us the promise of life after death and gave us hope for eternity.  God must love us very much to have let His perfect Son suffer and die for us--especially when we don't deserve HIS mercy and gift!  

IT BEGINS WITH BELIEVING!

It's good to know what Jesus did, and to know how much God loves us.  But knowing isn't enough to make things right between you and God.  You've got to believe it!  You've got to believe Jesus is the Son of God--that He lived, died, and came back from death to save you from your sins.  And if you believe it, it means you also realize you've sinned and that you need Him to forgive you of those sins.  John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."



Believing is the key!  Jesus has already taken the first step.  He want to forgive you and help you live life the right way.  All that needs to happen now is for you to take a step of faith...   Romans 10:9-10 says, "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

GET JESUS

If you believe this and want to give your life to Him, pray this prayer:



"God, I know I've messed up.  I know I have sinned.  And I know my sins have put a gap between us.  But you said in the Bible that if I say out loud Jesus is Lord, and believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead, I will be saved.  I do believe in my heart You raised Jesus from the dead.  I am a sinner and I am sorry for my sins.  Please forgive me of my sins.  I turn away from them, and I am giving my life to You right now.  By faith I receive Jesus Christ now as my Lord and Savior.  My past life is behind me, and now I am a new person.  Jesus, thank you for forgiving me and for saving me.  Amen!"
